Gary and Rachel’s wedding was originally going to be photographed by my good friend Rob. Unfortunately, due to Ill health, I stepped in and what a great day it was. The venue was the Beech Hill Hotel on the banks of Lake Windermere, and although the weather was looking very ominous, on the day, the sun shone and everything was perfect.
Whenever couples get married who have children, they are obviously an important part of the day. Along with the bridesmaid’s children, the room was a busy hive of activity full of laughter and a few tears! I love the challenge of photographing children, and the great thing about capturing them is that they really don’t have any concerns about how they look, so they just have fun and it makes my job easy.
The ceremony was in a local church just down the road, and after a lovely ceremony, we did the confetti in the beautiful grounds.
It was then back to the Beech Hill Hotel for the reception drinks, and just before the wedding breakfast, I headed down to the shore with the couple to do 10 minutes of portraits. We were really lucky and were offered the opportunity to head out onto the lake by one of the local boat owners, and it was great fun!
After a short walk back up the hill to the Beech Hill Hotel, it was speeches and the wedding breakfast followed by the evening celebrations. The late evening sun was shining, and everyone had a great time out on the balcony.
If you are considering getting married at the Beech Hill Hotel, or in fact anywhere in the Lake District and would like me to photograph your big day, it would be my pleasure.
