Last year, I got the opportunity to shadow and assist one of my favourite photographers, a Manchester-based wedding photographer called David Stubbs at a wedding venue in Cheshire called Dorfold Hall. His work is very much documentary in style, with very little interaction on the day, which is how I also love to photograph weddings. I have been a professional wedding photographer for a number of years now, but I always love the chance to work with other photographers whose work I admire. We are always learning, and I feel like I definitely picked up some great ideas from David on the day in terms of how he approaches wedding photography.
Sam and Dan were a fabulous couple with just the right attitude towards their big day. It was all about having a great time with their family and friends, and it really did end up being a wonderful event.
They chose to get married at Dorfiold Hall which is beautiful Jacobean Stately home and gardens set in 800 acres of the English countryside. This lovingly restored 17th-century property has all the beauty and charm which you would expect from a property like this, but it also has a very contemporary feel with stunning natural light flooding through the large windows to create an amazing space for a wedding.
It really was a super day, and as well as learning from David, I also captured plenty of images myself. I have picked some of my favourites here, which tell the story of the day.
If you are having a Dorfold Hall wedding yourselves and would like me to be your photographer, it would be my pleasure to return to one of the best venues in the North West to capture your special day!
