Paul and Mia booked me to photograph their wedding at Holmes mill in Clitheroe, and it was a genuine pleasure. I had never photographed there before so I relished the prospect of documenting their wedding at this super cool venue. Right from the beginning Paul and Mia really bought into the idea of having their day photographed in a natural documentary style. Above everything, they wanted to enjoy their big day and have a set of photographs to remind them of all the fun and joy as they celebrated with family and friends which is music to my ears.
The preparations were fun, and the lovely mixture of nerves and anticipation created for some really nice images. Before the ceremony, they had two extremely talented young boys playing the violin and cello which was a real treat for everyone. The ceremony was beautiful, and then onto the rest of the day!
This was the first wedding the venue had hosted in the large modern dining room and bar, and everything went very smoothly. Holmes Mill is a very professional wedding venue, and nothing was too much for trouble for the exceptional staff.
Following some formal group photos, I took the couple off for some portraits, and it was great fun. I like to create a mixture of images with the emphasis on natural-looking relaxed shots which don’t take me too long to shoot. The last thing I want to do is take the couple away from the party for more than ten or fifteen minutes.
This was an amazing wedding to be a part of, and I hope that the final set of pictures represent the overriding feeling of the day which was a real celebration of this couples love for each other. The family and friends travelled from across the world to attend, and they all contributed to making this into one of my favourite weddings.
I hope you enjoy looking through this small selection of photo’s from the day, and if you are considering getting married, it would be my pleasure to be your wedding photographer.
