Meols Hall is one of my favourite wedding venues in Lancashire, and Simon and Hannah’s big day was definitely one of this year’s weddings which I was really looking forward to photographing. One of the reasons I enjoy working at Meols Hall is the wonderful outdoor spaces. The old cobbled courtyard is perfect for the drinks reception, and the beautiful old barn which oozes character is the perfect place for a modern wedding ceremony. When it comes to getting ready, everyone is different, and Hannah only wanted me at the house for the last forty-five minutes before she left. This is fine by me because it is generally during this time that all the magic moments happen and the tension really begins to build. My aim as always is to capture what really happens. As far as Simon and Hannah are concerned, they are my ideal couple. From the very beginning, they really wanted their day to be about them celebrating with friends and family as opposed to one long boring photoshoot. This means for most of the day I was able to move around capturing everything as it happened in a documentary style while everyone got on with having a great day. With me starting quite late, I ended up staying on into the evening, and Meols Hall is a great place for a knees-up. The dancefloor was rocking to some of my favourite tunes, and I think the photographs really give you an idea of how great the party was. I hope you enjoy looking through some of Simon and Hannah’s photos, and if you are getting married at Meols Hall yourself, drop me a message and I will look forward to chatting about your big day!
